  • Certified: $124.00 / day
  • Non-Certified (with 2 years of college): $16.00 / hour

Teacher Aide:

  • $16.00 / hour

Note: All employees hired must have electronic fingerprint clearance through the NYS Education Department prior to employment.  A required fee of $102.50 must be paid by debit or credit card to the New York State Education Department.

Substitute Food Service Worker

We are seeking Substitute Food Service Workers for our Cafeteria Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS:

There are no minimum qualifications necessary for this position.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

  • Assists the cook in the preparation of the daily menu;
  • Helps to prepare vegetables and meats;
  • Sets tables with necessary dishes and silver;
  • Serves food from steam tables in a cafeteria style dining room;
  • Replenishes supply of sugar, salt and pepper in appropriate containers;
  • Washes and dries dishes if necessary and assists in cleaning all kitchen equipment;
  • Cleans tables and chairs, serving tables and other equipment;
  • May serve as a cashier when necessary.

Substitute Bus Driver / Bus Attendant

We are seeking Substitute Bus Drivers & Bus Attendants for our Transportation Department.

Bus Driver (licensed): $23.00 /  hour
Bus Driver (retired from THCSD & licensed): $25.00 / hour

Bus Attendant: $16.00 / hour
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bus Attendant: There are no minimum qualifications necessary for this position.\

Bus Driver: Possession of the appropriate level New York State Driver's License.  Drivers must be at least twenty-one years of age and must satisfy the requirements for School Bus Driver as set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the NYS Commissioner of Education.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY):

Bus Attendant:

  • Accompanies school bus for the purpose of assisting pupils to climb aboard and alight from the bus;
  • Helps young pupils to cross the highways to safety;
  • Maintains order on the school bus;
  • Makes certain that passengers are seated while the bus is in motion;
  • Secures seat belts when necessary;
  • May assist pupils to and from the bus to the classrooms;
  • Assists pupils and the driver as needed.

Bus Driver:

  • Operates a school bus on a regular schedule or on special occasions obeying all the traffic laws;

  • Checks the operating condition of the bus before starting on a trip;

  • Notifies the proper authority of any mechanical failure or lateness;

  • Keeps the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean and neat;

  • Informs the children about safety practices and reports undisciplined students to the proper authority;

  • Maintains records of mileage, routes, times and incidents;

  • Prepares and maintains maps of routes and pick up points;

  • May be required to operate a station wagon or other similar vehicle;

  • Performs such other specific duties as may be assigned.

Homebound Instruction Tutor

We are seeking certified teachers to be tutors for our Homebound Instruction students.
